Welcome

If you're interested in conscious living, then likely you're just as equally interested in Zen but simply not knowingly interested.

Usually Zen is associated with Japanese culture and religious or Buddhism practice, but true Zen (or at least the way this site uses the term) is emphasizing the value of conscious living.

Zen and conscious living come together and go hand-in-hand. Hence, conscious living without Zen is a huge oversight and vice-versa because these are not two.

"Conscious Flex: Zen & Conscious Living" is designed to offer a partnership of how these seemingly two are actually one movement.

Zen is the foundational spaciousness or presence from which conscious living derives. In the same manner that an artist, inventor or intuitive actions come from the stillness in the silence of non-movement.

In other words, Zen is a resting in the powerful space of not thinking about thought, not doing anything about doing, not trying to be the solver or understander, the knower collector but simply allowing the intelligence of life to flow through you and as you.

What is described can be thought of as meditation or accessing our intuition, but it's actually just natural living.

Often you will see kids in a natural resting space or presence and we tell them "snap out of it" because we think they are in "lala land" or "fantasy land" and not paying attention but actually they are simply being completely present with what is. It's natural to just rest and be, that's the flow from which insight and wisdom arises from.

Hence, conscious living is also the natural flow of how life organically expands upon itself. Consequently, conscious living is Zen living, when it's pure and without conceptual overlays.

Enjoy!
  • The Biggest Problem in the World

What is the biggest problem in the world? You might think it would be difficult to narrow down every problem in order to find the biggest one. Yet, what if all problems originated from the same place? What if every viewpoint or perspective that perceives things as problems some how managed to be filtered through the same vehicle? I am referring to the vehicle of the mind.

    Definition of the Word Mind
Let me define what I mean when I say the word mind, because we all have our own definitions of how we come to identify with words and we need a foundation for the word in order to comprehend each other on the same level. When I use the term 'mind' in this definition, I am speaking of the part of you that is continuously driving you to get something done in order to make things better. Within most people there is a continuous mind chatter and mental noise dialogging on the background of every moment. This dialogging is in a continuous struggle, since in every moment it has a goal or desire that needs completed in order to make a problem better. This part of you is always questioning with "what if" dilemmas and creating stressful patterns when you respond to it by dwelling on it.

As I mentioned in "Polyphasic Sleep Log – Day 120" I discovered when the mind is quiet of the mental chatter, something phenomenal happens. The struggle stops, stress raises itself absent, depression melts away, and things I once saw as problems are nothing but a product of the mind. The pain of the problems disappear for the reason that you see the 'problems' are nothing more then a situation that desires attention.

    The State of Aliveness
When the mind is still, an incredible silence lurks there. While the mental noise is at rest, a waiting stillness that is life enlightening brings forth an infinite amount of aliveness. By 'aliveness' I mean a deep sense of infinite creativity, insights, realizations and an awakening of your conscious self with vibranticity, and energization. This state of aliveness is infinitely vast and a new energy flows through you.

This energy is your magnificent infinite potential that springs out of your State of Beingness where unconditional love lives. This state is where life begins to flood through you instead of struggling with problems that cause stress and lead to depression by focusing on that noisy chatter in your mind. When this state is flowing through you then you realize there is nothing in the outer world that you need. You finally get the concept of what people mean when they express the idea of letting go of life and allowing life to flow naturally through you. You realize that you can let go of everything especially ideas and labels of character, personality, sense of self, or self-image in which you once used to define yourself.

The Conditioned States of the Mind

For example, if you have ever defined your Self as 'spiritual' then you had to live life through that label and if something rises that does not fit into that image then you would have to deny it, reject it, defend it or suppress it on one way or another. Let us say that the feelings of anger and thoughts of anger came through you. If you labeled yourself 'spiritual' then you might express thoughts similar to, "I should not be feeling this anger. I am spiritual, and anger should not be a part of me anymore". You do not allow certain things to flow through you since you have a label. Yet when this new energy flows through you then you allow everything since you realize that you are this State of Being and who you really are is only this natural State of Beingness. Anything else that flows through you is only a conditioned state. The conditioned states is not who you actually are that is why you are liberated to allow them. You find libertarian of self-image because that is the mind and trying to live in cording to an image in your mind.

    The Ego and Mind Link
In an article called "Two Worlds: Part 6" I explained how the mind and the ego are one in the same. Through what I present here, ego means an image has formed in your mind of who you think you are and created a self-image. Ego is trying to live through that self-image. Every time you feel the need to reject, refuse, defend or repress something of your self-image then you are feeling the ego. Every time you are comparing yourself to others and claiming to be better then them or not as good as others then you are feeling the ego and mind link. Every time you feel weakness, vulnerable or worthlessness then you are feeling the ego and know that you have identified yourself as an illusion of the mind. Ego, mind, and self-image are an unconscious process of illusion. This knowing is the awareness of being consciously active and alive. The moment you notice the illusion then you are free from it within that awareness. Awareness and allowing is being in the present moment watching and observing the unfolding process of the illusion.

    Living In the Now

When you act in the present moment then the majority of your choices are spontaneous through the experience of living in the now. Wild animals in nature live in this way continuous in every moment for the reason that they allow life to act through them spontaneously. Nature responds in the moment instantaneously in the state of aliveness naturally, since that is the nature of life celebration and the way that life intentionally through design is to be lived. As I explained in article "How to Find Your Passion & Make It Your Career", spontaneous living in the moment allows the universe of life to support you in everything you do. The immediate approach out of unfortunate circumstances is to go through the moment and unite to the infinite amount of aliveness within. The ironic thing about this is that you know this is what is needed to do because life itself moves through you and lives through you, yet it is difficult to trust that unless and until you allow it. Nevertheless, life circumstances improve as you bring to every moment since a deep sense of aliveness is in allowance to be there and you can value the moment entirely. Instantaneously out of a profound unconditional loving state flowing through you, then you can completely be there. You pay full awareness to the undertaking of the circumstance at hand.

    The Fighting Mind
Of course, the mind does not want to be in the present, the mind fixates a need within people to be in the future, where a goal, plan, or desire needs fulfilling in order to relieve itself from the moment of now. The mind is continuously struggling in every moment to attain itself in an undertaking to get absent from the moment. The chatter and mental noise within the mind is continuous and in every moment tells you a problem needs fixed in order to make life better.

This dialogging is in a continuous fight to make a problem better. I am not saying goals, plans or desires are a terrible strategy, I am saying that the need of them are not needed because when living in the moment (as I give details in "How to Find Your Passion & Make It Your Career") the universe will naturally support you. It will support you in any goal, plan, or desire that could ever be a possibility of arriving within you. In other words, the universe of life will lead you to the fulfillment of your biggest goals, plans, or desires without any strategy except for the approach of living in the moment. Which I explained in complete detail what I mean and how to do that in this article. Nothing could be more uncomplicated, straightforward, effortless and simple then that yet it gives the impression of being the most difficult complex and untrusting thing to do, for the reason of the conditioning of the mind. The mind lives life through struggle in order to survive and therefore gives people the sense that they must struggle in order to survive. Hence, the reason you hear about "survival of the fittest" when life is really anything but struggle as I clarified in "Perfect Universe Verse Taking Action", it only gives the illusion of struggle.

Putting a Stop to the Fight of the Mind
The mental noise of the mind is continuously in resistance because when the noise stops then the chattering of the mind will fail to exist and it does not want to expire. Therefore the more you try to cancel the sound, the more louder it will seem to be, unless you put it to sleep (which I have done through Polyphasic Sleep) and never wake it up again which is easy to do once it is asleep since the awakening of the aliveness is so insightful. It allows you to feel more naturally alive while using focus in intention by means of infinite potential through compassion and unconditional love. Life feels tremendously brilliant with experiences of a life force that is vibrant and intentionally distributes a vibration to every cell allowing them to express themselves at a higher frequency of energy, causing a-wakefulness and connection of every cell of the body. This life force of aliveness is always alive underneath the mind.

The Game of the MindThe difficulty of course is not letting the mind pull the illusion on you, yet when you are not aware of 'the game of life' then the game will play you. For that reason, we are a world with elderly people submerged with an intense past on mind and youthful people overwhelmed with an unbearable mind on the future. The mind will lead you exactly where it desires you to be in order for it to continue to exist, while you struggle to survive. The mind will do everything in its power to keep you in that position and most of the time it is easy to do because we have systems set-up (it is number one in the "Silent Weapons for Quiet Wars" manual) for that purpose. It will say things like "Use your logic; you have a problem that needs dealing with in order to make your situation better! Get this problem solved, goal achieved and plan fulfilled then things will be better and you can enjoy the present." Yet, the real logic is that your mind is tricking you to think about the future and live in it for the need of its own survival. It is saying wait for the future before you start living in the now because if you do not take care of this problem first then you will be stuck in the present of now where the problem exists. Do you see how illogical the logic of the mind is? If you are always waiting for the future before you start living in the now, then you will never be living in the now since your future is in what you do now! When living in the moment, you will not see things as problems because you respond to them in the moment, you become still in the silence (without mind chatter) and action arises from that state. The source of all creativity is in that state therefore the action you take is going to be the best possible action required in that moment since creativity is unlimited because it comes out of the imagination, which is infinite potential.

The mind will stop you from seeing many obvious observements every time since these things are only clear as the noticeable when the mind chatter is alive. For example, most people think of having patience as a practiced skill since to the mind there is somehow a kind of effort in being patient. When true patience arises, you do not know your patent you are just present, it naturally arises out of the present moment of now. You only need to practice patience if your not living in the now. When living in the now patience is only a concept and all these concepts are not needed while living for the moment. You will not think about it as patient because being patient means you trying hard to be here in the now. Patient means you half way there and half not there.

Affirmations Verse Living in the Moment
Practicing patience is like affirmations. Using affirmations is a way to insert firmly a belief you want to hold as reality. An example of an affirmation would perhaps be to have the desire to know your infinite potential. As a result, you post intentions (by writing what you want to insert firmly in your reality on notes) everywhere you will notice them and by doing that your awareness is always set-up in remembrance of the intention until you do not have to be reminded of it anymore. Yet when you know your infinite potential then you live it in the moment, meaning it lives through you in your experience of aliveness. The concept of infinite potential is no longer need once you realize it is already here because it is obvious, it naturally happens and the need of the affirmation is no longer present. Affirmations are a step in accepting things as reality yet not quite there. They disappear when the need for a mental concept is not there anymore. When you are driving down the road to your destination, you will see signs posted in the ground telling you are almost there (or far away) yet affirmations and concepts are like these signposts. You do not see these signposts when you are at your destination. Affirmations and concepts are like stopping at a signpost or moving very slowly and thinking you are going to reach your destination in a manner that serves you. Nevertheless, in my experience when you are living in the moment then this aliveness flows through you and this unconditional loving for life presents a continuous happiness that is endlessly putting you in perfect position of always having extreme happy experiences. As I already declared, life will support you in any goal, plan, or desire that could ever be a possibility of arriving within you because the universe of life will lead you to the fulfillment of your biggest goals, plans, or desires without any strategy.

    Experience Always You to Know

In conclusion, the mind is the biggest problem in the world since it is the source of all problems. Yet in the moment that the mind is still then you see that the mind is just an illusion. The mind is a false impression that detracts you from living in the moment. I have seen and read many articles in my life about 'living in the moment' and as well as the importance of meaning of 'unconditional love', 'letting go' and 'abandonment of the ego', however I never really understood and appreciated the information presented for the reason that these things are a concept of an experience. Experience requires action therefore; you cannot fully ever comprehend any concept or appreciate the material until you have your own experience. No explanation could give these concepts justice but I did choose my words carefully and pull everything together with intent to inspire action. I have a sneaking suspicion that if these concepts had this kind of explanation to me in the way I presented here, I would have taken action years before, yet of course, I can see the perfection in that. As I said in "Polyphasic Sleep Log – Day 120" I have read hundreds of logs (at least) with people attempting this sleeping pattern and many speak of the same results, yet I am not sure most people understand what they are experiencing, therefore they express their experience in different words. That is why I am always recommending Polyphasic Sleep since within that action an experience will emerge to give rise within you the aliveness. Yet, I am aware that the moment you start living in the moment throughout every moment then you will be lead to these experiences naturally without undertaking Polyphasic Sleep, it is just a helpful trigger because Polyphasic Sleep is the natural sleep pattern we were all born with before we the conditioning to Monophasic Sleep patterns.
